#1 Power Washing Company in Florence Alabama
Houses in Florence go green faster than most people expect, and the fix is a proper wash, not a new coat of paint. We clean houses, roofs, driveways, decks, fences and gutters across Florence and the rest of the Shoals, using low pressure and the right mix on siding and shingles and real pressure on concrete that can take it.

The river is the reason. Florence sits on the north bank of the Tennessee, straight across from Muscle Shoals and Sheffield, and between the river and Wilson Lake the air stays damp most of the year. That moisture feeds the green film you see on the shady side of the house, the black streaks on the roof and the slick patch on the back steps. A wash clears it, and knowing which surface gets which treatment is what keeps the clean from doing damage.
What we wash
House exteriors first. Vinyl, brick, fiber cement, painted wood trim, soffits and the porch ceiling, washed top to bottom so the whole outside matches again instead of one clean wall next to three dingy ones.
Roofs get a low-pressure soft wash that kills the black algae streaks without knocking granules off the shingles. Driveways, sidewalks, patios and pool decks get a surface cleaner and real pressure, because concrete holds red clay, oil drips and mildew deep in the pores. Wood decks, privacy fences and lake docks get a gentler wash that lifts the grey without raising the grain. Gutters get cleaned out, the downspouts flushed, and the black tiger stripes on the faces brightened.
If you want to see how each of those jobs runs before you ask for a price, how a whole-house wash goes breaks them out one by one, with what to expect from each.

Why Shoals houses go green
Look at any brick ranch on a street off Cloverdale Road or out toward the university and you will usually find the same pattern. The south wall looks fine. The north wall, the one that never dries out after a dew, carries a green cast from the ground up to the eaves. That is algae and mildew, and the humidity off the river and Wilson Lake gives it a head start every spring.
Pollen piles on top of it. From March into May the Shoals sits under a yellow haze that settles on porch rails, window screens, deck boards and cars, and once it mixes with the damp it turns into a sticky film that holds dirt. Spring is our busiest season for that reason, and a lot of people book a wash right after the worst of the pollen drops so the house stays clean into summer.
Then there is the clay. Heavy rain splashes red clay out of flower beds and bare spots onto foundations, the bottom course of siding and the lower panels of garage doors. On light vinyl it shows up as an orange band a foot or two high, and it does not rinse off with a garden hose.
Soft wash or pressure wash
Not every surface around a house should see a pressure washer. High pressure on shingles strips the granules that protect them. On vinyl it can force water up behind the panels, and on older soft brick it can eat into the mortar joints. Those surfaces get a soft wash: a cleaning mix applied at low pressure, given time to work on the algae and mildew, then rinsed off gently.
Concrete is the opposite. A driveway or pool deck needs the pressure and a flat surface cleaner to pull stains out of the pores evenly, without the zebra stripes a wand leaves behind. Wood falls in the middle, with enough pressure to lift the grey layer and no more. We decide that surface by surface when we look at the job, and we tell you which method goes where before anything gets wet.
How a wash day goes
- It starts with a photo or two through the form, or a quick look at the place if the job is big or the roof is steep. Every job is priced in writing before we start, by the surface and its size, from a photo or a quick walk-around. You get that number before you commit to a day.
- On the day, we walk the outside first. Windows get checked, outdoor outlets and light fixtures get covered, and plants along the foundation get soaked with plain water so the cleaning mix cannot settle into them. Cars come out of the driveway if the concrete is part of the job. Then the work goes top down: roof or gutters first if they are on the list, siding next, concrete last, so nothing dirty runs onto something already clean.
- At the end we rinse the beds again, pull the covers off, and walk it with you if you are home. If a spot did not come up the way it should, that is when we deal with it, not after you have to call us back.
Where we work
Florence is home base, and the trucks run every day into the towns around it. We wash houses, roofs and concrete across the Shoals: Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen and Rogersville. We also take jobs in Lexington, Leighton, Cherokee, St. Florian and Underwood-Petersville when the schedule lines up. Each town has its own mix of older brick, newer vinyl subdivisions, lake houses and storefront blocks, and we wash all of it.
